Manufacturing

Find shortages days early, not on the shop floor.

Gudz explodes your bills of materials against open orders and stock, tells you what to buy and by when, and holds material for every production order. Batches, by-products, yield and cost per unit are recorded as you make them.

From demand to finished stock

Plan once and each step creates the paperwork for the next. Your planners make the decisions; Gudz does the arithmetic.

  1. 1

    Demand comes in

Sales orders, forecasts and reorder levels become a list of what to make.

  2. 2

    MRP runs

BOMs are exploded level by level against stock, reservations and open POs.

  3. 3

    Shortages bought

Draft purchase orders go to the usual vendor for each material, for approval.

  4. 4

    Order released

Material is reserved and issued to the floor along the routing.

  5. 5

    Output recorded

Good quantity, batches, by-products and QC results are logged per run.

  6. 6

    Stock and cost posted

Finished goods enter stock at their actual cost, ready to sell.

See next week's shortages this week.

MRP looks at every open production order, its BOM, your stock and what vendors are due to deliver. When a material will run short, it tells you by how much, on which day and which order it holds up.

  • Projected stock for every material, day by day
  • Open POs and job work counted as supply
  • Draft POs for each shortage, ready to approve

Production orders that record what really happened.

As the floor reports output, Gudz logs the batch, the by-products, the QC result and the actual yield. The cost of what went in, from the latest receipts, rolls into the finished goods.

  • Batch, lot and serial numbers with printed labels
  • By-products and yield recorded for every run
  • Cost per unit that updates with each receipt

Ask what you can make, and get the PO drafted.

Hyperion reads your BOMs, stock and open orders, answers in plain words and drafts purchase orders for your approval. Workflows can alert a buyer the moment MRP finds a gap.

Questions about Manufacturing

Does Gudz handle both process and discrete manufacturing?

Yes. Process plants work with batches, yields and by-products; discrete plants with serial numbers and assemblies. Both use the same BOMs, routings and production orders. If you run multi-station assembly lines, the Factory module adds lines, stations and scheduling on top.

How does MRP decide what to buy?

It explodes the BOM for every open production order, subtracts stock already on hand or reserved, adds open purchase orders and job work due back, and dates any gap. Each shortage shows the order it affects and a suggested purchase order.

Can we see which raw material batches went into a finished batch?

Yes. Every production order records the batches it consumed and the batch or serial numbers it produced, so you can trace forward to the customers who received it or back to the vendor who supplied it.

How is the cost of a finished product worked out?

From the material actually issued, at the cost it was received at, plus the labour, overhead and job work charges set on the routing. When a new receipt changes a material's cost, the next run picks it up.

Bring one of your BOMs to the demo.

Send us a bill of materials beforehand. We'll load it, run MRP against a sample week and show you the shortages it finds.
